Treatment of abnormal menstrual bleeding will depend on the diagnosis. The various treatment options are:
- Medical therapy (tablets)
- Hormone coil
- Endometrial ablation using Thermachoice (Uterine Balloon Therapy).
- Operative hysteroscopy – for the removal of polyps or fibroids
- Hysterectomy (removal of the womb)
Thermachoice is one of the most popular methods now for patients with no obvious cause of abnormal menstrual bleeding, as it does not involve any major surgery.
