6 March 2010 - Patients and visitors to the Sime Darby Medical Centre Subang Jaya (SDMCSJ), the flagship hospital of Sime Darby Healthcare, will find visiting the hospital a hassle-free experience with the opening of the multi-level car park.
Vehicles to the hospital can now be routed to the four-level covered basement car park, built near the hospital’s Outpatient Centre.
The car park has more than 730 parking bays.
“This new car park is part of the hospital’s continuous efforts to improve the overall quality and efficiency of the services,” Sime Darby Healthcare chief executive officer Elaine Cheong Pek Yim said.
She said the group placed much importance on customer feedback and it was from such feedback that they realised there was a crucial need for more parking bays.
“While our focus is primarily on acquiring the latest medical technology for the best clinical outcomes and good patient care, we cannot neglect amenities that will provide our visitors with easy access and a hassle-free experience,” she added.
The car park will be managed by SDMCSJ and users will be charged a nominal parking fee.
Adequate road signages will be placed around the hospital to ensure that motorists are able to find their way to the new car park.
The hospital began work on the car park in March 2008.
Its annexe, oncefully completed and operational, will also house some retail and food outlets.
Buggy service from car park bays to the lift lobby will be made available for the convenience of patients and visitors from 9am until 9pm.
Other facilities in the 24-hour car park include parking bays for the disabled which are located close to hospital entrances on all levels, and valet parking service.
